Who we are

GolfSim Compare (golfsimcompare.com) is a product-comparison website. We have no user accounts, no comment system, and no checkout — you cannot create a profile here, and we never ask for your name, email address, or payment details.

What we collect

We use PostHog, a product-analytics service, to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, on-site searches, scroll depth, browser and device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We also record a sample of anonymized browsing sessions (session replay) to find usability problems; all typed input is masked before it leaves your browser. Analytics requests are sent through our own domain (/ingest) and processed by PostHog Inc. on servers in the United States.

Cookies and local storage

PostHog stores a first-party cookie and browser local-storage entries to distinguish returning visitors and, occasionally, cookies beginning with ab_ that assign you to a layout variant we are testing. These are first-party only; we run no third-party advertising trackers and show no ads.

Affiliate links

Buy and check-price links go to retailers (Amazon, PlayBetter, and other golf retailers) through affiliate-tracking URLs. Once you leave this site, the retailer’s own privacy policy applies, and the retailer may set its own cookies to attribute your purchase. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

How we use data

Aggregate statistics to improve pages and to understand which links earn commissions. We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build cross-site profiles.

Retention

Analytics events are retained in PostHog per our project settings; session recordings are automatically deleted after a limited period (per PostHog’s current retention policy).

Your choices and rights

The site works fully with analytics blocked (content blockers, disabling JavaScript for analytics, or clearing cookies). To ask what data we hold about you, or to request deletion (GDPR/CCPA), email privacy@golfsimcompare.com and include the approximate dates and pages you visited so we can locate the pseudonymous records.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change.
