GSPro vs E6 Connect: Which Sim Software Fits Your Hardware

By Patrick Kavanagh ·

Part of: Golf Simulators — The Complete Guide

The honest answer to “GSPro or E6 Connect?” is that for most buyers the choice is made before they ever compare course libraries: your launch monitor and your computer decide it. GSPro is Windows-only and needs a gaming-class PC; E6 Connect runs on an iPad. Six of the 39 launch monitors in our product database connect to E6 Connect but not to GSPro at all, one (the Bushnell Launch Pro) goes the other way, and only 14 connect to both. If your hardware supports both and you own a capable PC, GSPro’s $250/year buys you 2,500+ community-built courses and the stronger online-golf scene; E6 Connect is the pick when you play on iOS, when a license already came free with your device, or when you want to pay once and own it.

That’s the decision in one paragraph. The rest of this post shows the work: the current prices from both publishers, the PC requirements that quietly eliminate GSPro for a lot of people, and the per-device connector matrix — the thing almost nobody keeps current, which we track as a recorded field on every unit in the database behind our simulator software compatibility guide.

The two licenses, side by side

GSProE6 Connect
Price$250/year, subscription only (per gsprogolf.com; the old lifetime add-on is discontinued)$1,000 one-time Home license, or $300/year Basic / $600/year Expanded (per TruGolf and Carl’s Place)
PlatformsWindows 10/11 onlyWindows 10/11 and iOS (iPad 5+, iPhone 8+, per TruGolf’s support portal)
Minimum hardwareGTX/RTX 3060-class GPU, 16GB RAM (per gsprogolf.com)Intel i5, 8GB RAM, GTX 1070-class GPU on PC — or just an iPad (per TruGolf’s support portal)
Courses2,500+ community-created lidar courses, downloaded free (per gsprogolf.com)27 owned courses on Home; 12 rotating on Basic; roughly 96 on Expanded (per Carl’s Place)
MultiplayerUp to 8 players local or online, plus community tours (per gsprogolf.com)Local multiplayer on all licenses; online events and peer-to-peer play require a Basic or Expanded subscription (per Carl’s Place)
Trial14-day free trialNo general trial, but many devices ship with a bundled license

Two structural differences matter more than any single row. First, GSPro’s library is community-built: the 2,500+ courses are made by users with lidar-based design tools and download free, which is why GSPro’s library dwarfs E6’s even though GSPro costs less per year. E6’s courses are licensed, polished renditions of real resorts — Pebble Beach and St Andrews are sold as premium packs — and the library is correspondingly small. Second, the ownership models are opposites: GSPro lapses the day you stop paying, while the E6 Home license is yours permanently. We break down E6’s full tier structure, including the newer E6 Apex subscriptions, in our E6 Connect pricing explainer.

The PC requirement is the first filter

GSPro publishes a Windows-only requirements list: 16GB RAM and a GTX/RTX 3060-class graphics card at minimum, an RTX 3070 recommended for 1080p, and an RTX 3080 for 4K, per gsprogolf.com. There is no Mac, iOS, or Android version. If you don’t already own a gaming PC, that is a real added cost on top of the $250/year — typically several hundred dollars at the low end — and it belongs in your budget before you compare the titles on features. Our complete golf simulator guide covers how the computer fits into total build cost.

E6 Connect’s PC floor is much lower — TruGolf’s support portal lists an Intel i5, 8GB RAM, and a GTX 1070-class card — and the iOS version runs on an iPad 5 or later or an iPhone 8 or later. For a lot of garage and net setups, “it runs on the iPad I already own” ends the comparison. The caveat: E6 licenses are platform-specific. You buy an iOS license or a PC license, not both, and several bundled device licenses are iOS-only (more on that below).

The connector matrix: what your hardware actually allows

This is the part that goes stale on every list the forums pass around, so we keep it as a recorded per-device field. Across the 39 launch monitors in our product database: 19 connect to GSPro, 20 connect to E6 Connect, and only 14 connect to both. The disagreements are where the decision gets made for you:

Device prices above are from our product records; the sale-price rows (R10, Square, MLM2PRO, Mevo Gen2, SC4 Pro) have held steady across our tracked price snapshots since September 21. For the full ranked list of GSPro-capable hardware at every budget, see our best launch monitors for GSPro hub.

The pattern is worth naming. TruGolf and Voice Caddie hardware is E6-native and GSPro-absent — TruGolf makes E6, so its devices bundle it and skip the competitor. Foresight-family hardware (including the Bushnell Launch Pro) routes everything through Foresight’s own subscription stack, which is how a $3,000 device ends up with the most expensive GSPro path on the list and no E6 at all. The friendliest units are the ones with no stake in software: Square, Garmin, FlightScope, and Blue Tees connect to both titles with no device-side fee.

The license math over three years

Assume the hardware is settled and you genuinely get to choose. Here is what each path costs over three years of play, using the published prices above:

  • GSPro: $250 × 3 = $750, plus a device-side subscription if you’re on Rapsodo ($199.99/year), Uneekor ($199/year), or Bushnell ($499/year). On a Bushnell Launch Pro, three years of GSPro is about $2,250.
  • E6 Home license: $1,000 once. It overtakes GSPro on cost early in year four — but only if 27 courses and no online events is enough, since online events and peer-to-peer play are subscription features per Carl’s Place.
  • E6 Basic: $300 × 3 = $900 for 12 rotating courses plus online events.
  • E6 bundled with hardware: $0. A FlightScope Mevo Gen2 includes 8 E6 courses owned for life on iOS and PC per FlightScope; the TruGolf LaunchBox includes the full Home license; the SC4 Pro includes 5 courses. If you already own one of these, trying E6 costs nothing, which is a fair tiebreaker all by itself.

The limitation to state plainly: these are license costs, not experience costs. GSPro’s $750 buys an enormous, constantly growing course library and the most active online simulator-golf community; E6’s $1,000 buys 27 courses that look terrific and run on an iPad. Neither number tells you which one you’ll enjoy, and course-library counts move — GSPro’s own site says 2,500+ while some 2026 coverage counts higher, so treat every library figure as a floor.

So which one?

Pick GSPro if your launch monitor connects to it, you own or will buy a Windows gaming PC, and you care about course variety or online play. The community library and the active online tours are the product; $250/year is cheap for what it covers, per gsprogolf.com’s published feature list.

Pick E6 Connect if you play on iOS, your device is E6-native (Voice Caddie, TruGolf, Ernest Sports), a license came bundled in your box, or you want to pay once and own your software. It is the lower-friction, lower-spec option, and for bundled-license owners it’s free to find out whether it’s enough.

Pick both if you’re on a dual-citizen device like the Square Golf Launch Monitor or Mevo Gen2 and can’t decide: GSPro’s 14-day trial plus whatever E6 content came in your box costs nothing to compare. The software is replaceable; the hardware mostly isn’t — which is why we’d always choose the launch monitor first, using the compatibility guide to keep both doors open.

Frequently asked questions

Is GSPro or E6 Connect cheaper?

It depends on how long you play. GSPro is $250 per year with no perpetual option, per gsprogolf.com. E6 Connect offers a $1,000 one-time Home license (27 owned courses) alongside $300/year Basic and $600/year Expanded subscriptions, per TruGolf and Carl's Place. Over three years GSPro costs $750; the E6 Home license costs $1,000 once and then nothing — and several launch monitors include an E6 license in the box, which makes E6 effectively free.

Does GSPro run on an iPad?

No. GSPro is Windows-only — gsprogolf.com lists Windows 10/11 with a GTX/RTX 3060-class GPU and 16GB RAM as the minimum, and there is no Mac or iOS version. E6 Connect runs on both Windows PCs and iOS devices (iPad 5 or later, iPhone 8 or later, per TruGolf's support portal), though each E6 license is platform-specific.

Can I run both GSPro and E6 Connect on the same launch monitor?

Often, yes. In our product database, 14 of 39 tracked launch monitors connect to both titles, including the Square Golf Launch Monitor, FlightScope Mevo Gen2, Garmin Approach R10, and the Uneekor EYE series (the Uneekor units need the $199/year Pro Package to unlock any third-party software).

Which launch monitors work with E6 Connect but not GSPro?

In our records: the Voice Caddie SC4 and SC4 Pro, TruGolf LaunchBox and Apogee, Ernest Sports ES Tour Plus, and FlightScope X3C all drive E6 Connect with no GSPro connector. The reverse case is the Bushnell Launch Pro, which supports GSPro (behind its Gold subscription) but has no E6 Connect support per Breaking Eighty's June 2026 coverage.
