The October 2026 Launch Monitor Price Index
By Patrick Kavanagh ·
If you are shopping for a launch monitor this month, two deals stand out and one widespread assumption is wrong. The standouts: the SkyTrak+ is in genuine closeout at $1,195 — 60% under its $2,995 launch list price — and Uneekor cut the EYE MINI from $4,500 to $2,999 in early October. The wrong assumption: that premium launch monitors quietly discount if you watch long enough. Across our tracked price snapshots since September 21, Foresight’s entire lineup has not moved a single dollar.
This is the first edition of our launch monitor price index: street price versus list price across the 28 units we track, recorded from retailer product pages on three snapshot dates (September 21, September 28, and October 12), with the headline prices re-verified against the live retailer pages on October 14. It is a companion to our evergreen launch monitor price guide, which covers what each tier of hardware costs and why — this index covers what is actually happening to those prices right now.
The biggest street-vs-list gaps this month
These are the largest recorded gaps between list price and the street price in our October 12 snapshot, with the top entries re-checked live on October 14.
| Product | List price | Street price (Oct 12) | Gap | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SkyTrak+ | $2,995 | $1,195 | $1,800 (60%) | Closeout, while inventory lasts |
| Uneekor EYE MINI | $4,500 | $2,999 | $1,501 (33%) | Official price cut, early October |
| Uneekor EYE XO | $8,000 | $6,499 | $1,501 (19%) | Superseded by EYE XO2 |
| FlightScope X3C | $14,995 | $13,495 | $1,500 (10%) | Discount shrank this month |
| SkyTrak ST MAX | $2,995 | $1,695 | $1,300 (43%) | Active sale at SkyTrak’s store |
| TruGolf Apogee | $9,000 | $7,995 | $1,005 (11%) | Steady all three snapshots |
| Uneekor EYE XR | $6,999 | $5,999 | $1,000 (14%) | Steady all three snapshots |
| Uneekor EYE MINI LITE | $2,750 | $1,999 | $751 (27%) | Steady all three snapshots |
A few of these deserve a closer look.
SkyTrak+ at $1,195. PlayBetter’s listing shows $1,195 against a struck-through $2,495, bundled with a free one-year Foresight course-play package, and explicitly labeled as available “while promotional inventory remains.” The unit launched at a $2,995 list price and has been superseded by the ST MAX. SkyTrak’s own store no longer sells a new standalone SkyTrak+ at all — the only ST+ on skytrakgolf.com as of October 14 is a certified pre-owned studio bundle at $2,495, alongside an active trade-in program toward the ST MAX. Read together, that is a textbook end-of-line clearance: the lowest photometric-launch-monitor price in our records, on hardware that will not be made again.
Uneekor EYE MINI at $2,999. This one is new this month. Uneekor’s official store cut the EYE MINI from its $4,500 list to $2,999 in early October, a reduction echoed at retailers like Shop Indoor Golf, which advertises “$1,500 OFF EYE MINI” — though some retailers still showed the old $4,500 price as of mid-October, so it pays to check before you buy. Breaking Eighty’s review, updated October 5, calls it an excellent value now that it sits under $3,000. The cut also repositions Uneekor’s whole portable lineup: EYE MINI at $2,999, EYE MINI LITE at $1,999, and the new EYE MINI CORE at $1,249.
FlightScope X3C — the discount that shrank. This is the inverse of a deal. In our September 21 and September 28 snapshots, FlightScope’s store sold the X3C at $12,745, a $2,250 discount off its $14,995 list. By October 12 the sale price had risen $750 to $13,495, and FlightScope’s product page confirms that price today (“Regular price $14,995, Sale price $13,495, Save $1,500”). If you were waiting on the X3C, waiting cost you $750 this month.
Who never moves: the zero-discount club
Just as useful as knowing who discounts is knowing who does not, because it tells you whether waiting has any payoff.
Foresight Sports is the firmest-priced brand we track. Across all three snapshots, the GC3 ($6,999), GCQuad ($15,999), Falcon ($16,999), and QuadMax ($19,999) sat at exactly list price at Foresight’s own store. Zero movement, on any unit, on any date. The same holds for the Bushnell Launch Pro ($2,999.99 at PlayBetter, unchanged), which is built on Foresight’s GC3 hardware.
Garmin held firm too — including on the R50. The Garmin Approach R50 showed $4,999.99 at PlayBetter in all three snapshots and again in our October 14 live check, with no strikethrough or sale badge. Our own product database had recorded a $4,499.99 price for the R50, and part of the work of this index was resolving that discrepancy: the live retailer page wins, and the R50 is selling at full list. The Approach R10 and Approach G82 were likewise unchanged at $499.99 and $599.99.
One price went up at the budget end. The Blue Tees Rainmaker sat at $499.99 in our September snapshots and rose to $599.99 — its full list price — by October 12 at PlayBetter. A $100 swing matters a lot more at this end of the market, and it is a reminder that sub-$600 sale prices are not floors.
Deals that appear and vanish: the Full Swing KIT case
The sharpest lesson in this first index came from the Full Swing KIT. It sat at its $4,999 list price on September 21, dropped $1,000 to $3,999 in our September 28 snapshot at PlayBetter, and was back at $4,999 by October 12. The entire discount lived and died inside a two-week window.
That one data point is why a dated index exists at all. A static price guide cannot tell you that a $1,000 discount on a tour-grade radar unit surfaced for roughly a week and disappeared; only repeated snapshots catch it. If a deal like that matters to you, the practical takeaway is to decide your target price in advance and act when it appears, because our recorded data says these windows can close within days.
What this means by budget
Under $1,000: the discounts here are steady rather than dramatic — the Rapsodo MLM2PRO at $599.99 (list $699.99), Garmin Approach R10 at $499.99 (list $599.99), Rapsodo MLM at $199.99 (list $249.99), and PRGR at $199.99 (list $229.99) have all held those prices across every snapshot. Our best launch monitors under $1,000 hub ranks what those dollars actually buy. The Rainmaker’s $100 jump back to list is the only movement we recorded in this bracket, and it went the wrong way.
$1,000–$3,000: this is where October’s real action is. The SkyTrak+ closeout at $1,195, the ST MAX at $1,695 (SkyTrak’s own store shows $1,300 off its $2,995 list, with a free year of software), and the EYE MINI’s fresh cut to $2,999 make this the strongest value bracket in our records so far.
$3,000 and up: mostly firm. Uneekor’s EYE XO ($6,499 vs. $8,000 list) and EYE XR ($5,999 vs. $6,999) carry standing discounts that have not changed across our snapshots, the TruGolf Apogee holds a steady $1,005 gap, and everything from Foresight, Garmin’s R50, and the Uneekor EYE XO2 sits at full list. The X3C’s shrinking discount is the only movement we recorded above $3,000 — and it moved against buyers.
Honest limitations
Three things this index is not. First, it is three snapshot dates, not continuous monitoring — a price that moved and reverted between snapshots (as the Full Swing KIT nearly did) can be missed. Second, each product is tracked at one primary retailer (listed in our records — mostly PlayBetter, manufacturer stores, and specialty sim retailers), so a different retailer may briefly beat the recorded price. Third, these are prices we read from retailer product pages and structured price data, not negotiated or in-cart prices; financing offers, bundle values, and free-software promotions are noted only where the retailer states them. We will keep publishing this index as the snapshot history deepens, and the evergreen context — what each hardware tier costs and why — lives in the launch monitor price guide.
Frequently asked questions
Is the SkyTrak+ worth buying at the closeout price?
At $1,195 it is the lowest price we have on record for a photometric launch monitor with ball and partial club data. The catch is that it has been superseded by the ST MAX, PlayBetter labels the offer as lasting only while promotional inventory remains, and SkyTrak's own store no longer sells a new standalone unit — so you are buying the end of a product line, not the start of one.
Do Foresight launch monitors ever go on sale?
Not in our data. Across our tracked price snapshots since September 21, the GC3, GCQuad, Falcon, and QuadMax have sat at exactly their list prices ($6,999 to $19,999) with zero movement at Foresight's own store. If you are waiting for a Foresight discount, the recorded pattern says you will be waiting a long time.
When is the best time of year to buy a launch monitor?
The pattern in our snapshots suggests two windows: when a product is superseded (the SkyTrak+ and Uneekor EYE XO discounts both follow newer replacement models), and short promotional dips like the Full Swing KIT's one-week $1,000 drop in late September. Black Friday is the traditional third window, which this index will cover when it arrives.
How is this index put together?
We record the live retailer price for 28 launch monitors from retailer product pages (mostly structured JSON-LD price data), compare it against each product's list price, and note what moved between snapshots. Snapshot dates so far: September 21, September 28, and October 12, with key prices re-checked against the live retailer pages on October 14.
